Everyone will be required to purchase a new bat for ages 4-13.

Beginning Jan. 1, 2018, Cal Ripken will begin implementing new bat regulations for ages 4-13. 

The Cal Ripken Division of Babe Ruth League, Inc. has approved the use of the 2 5/8 inch barrel bats for local league play and tournament play beginning in January 2018 and coinciding with the new USA Bat standard.  All bats will be required to have the USAbat official stamp on them.  Below are the rules and links from Babe Ruth on the new regulations and the list of approved bats.

  1. Cal Ripken Division - All non-wood bats must have the USABat Marking. The Barrel Maximum is  2 5/8".   No BBCOR Bats are permitted in the Cal Ripken Division.  For the T-Ball Division, bats must be marked with the USABat T-Ball Stamp.
  2. Babe Ruth Baseball 13-15 Division – All non-wood bats must have the USABat Marking or marked BBCOR .50.  Bat Barrel - 2 5/8".
